This exhibition presents a group of works painted in the years immediately following the artist's emigration to the West. The works in A.R. Penck: Paintings from the Eighties show the artist's continued search for a contemporary visual expression of the social contradictions present in German society during this time.

Artists Aaron Curry and Thomas Houseago organize an exhibition of major sculpture by Joseph Beuys, Frederick Kiesler, Antonius Höckelmann, Jörg Immendorff, Markus Lüpertz, Per Kirkeby and A.R. For summer, Michael Werner Gallery presents an exhibition of sculpture by Frederick Kiesler. Kiesler's most important sculpture, "David", 1965, forms the core of this exhibition, making it a rare opportunity to view major works by the visionary Austro-American artist. The Unexpected New: Late Paintings

This exhibition highlights Kirchner’s paintings made in Davos, Switzerland, beginning in the early 1920s, a period rarely examined in-depth in exhibitions devoted to Kirchner’s work. The Unexpected New is a rare opportunity to view little-known works by an important twentieth century artist.

James Lee Byars: Five Points Make A Man
An Exhibition in Two Parts

A two-part exhibition that featured the presentation of "Five Points Make A Man", a daily performance with water drops, from 29 February through 8 March; and currently on view, "The Diamond Floor", a sculpture created in 1995 and originally shown at the Cartier Foundation, through 12 April.

On February 1 Michael Werner opened an exhibition of paintings by the French artist Eugène Leroy (1910-2000) in London's West End. These densely impastoed paintings ranging from 1958 to 1999 most often depict heads and figures emerging from thick layers of paint.
