Per Kirkeby

On the occasion of Per Kirkeby's 70th birthday, the Louisiana museum presents a large scale exhibition of over 100 of the artist's paintings and sculptures. This is the first major museum exhibition devoted to Kirkeby in nearly 10 years. The exhibition explores in depth the conceptual underpinnings that form the key to understanding Kirkeby's varied and complex oeuvre. The exhibition is organized by Poul Erik Toejner and will be accompanied by a major full-color catalogue.
"I'm full of Byars". James Lee Byars - An Homage

Kunstmuseum Bern presents a major survey of James Lee Byars, drawing particular attention to the artist's relationship to the city and his patrons there over many years. Byars enacted several important early performances in Bern and was given a major solo exhibition at the Kunstmuseum in 1978. Key works in "I'm full of Byars" include sculptures made from Bernese sandstone, a material which fascinated the artist, as well as drawings, letters and documents drawn from the Toni Gerber collection. The exhibition is accompanied by a scholarly catalogue.
Per Kirkeby Retrospective

Tate Modern presents a full-career retrospective of Per Kirkeby featuring works in various media from throughout his 40-year career. This is the first major museum survey of Kirkeby's work in over a decade. Additional venues are to be determined. Please contact the gallery for more information.
